The tactile number matching pairs includes 40 wooden discs with engraved numbers from 1-20 for little fingers to trace over. The 1-20 matching pair wooden discs are a unique resource made from natural beech wood great for children to develop early numeracy skills including number recognition, counting as well as addition and subtraction. A fun way to introduce numeracy while encouraging children to feel positive and confident while they learn through play.

How to:
Set up a table: 4 trays with artificial grass in them. Have a tray available with numbers on discs (these are from @the_freckled_frog ). Have a variety of artificial flower petals or real flower petals available…. Students may even enjoy doing this last step themselves. Students match the number of petals to the disc.”

I set up the mat and the wooden parts before leaving for work and then get this video from my partner. Very happy that it amuses my child and provides the option for open ended play. She loves seeing the animals we don’t see that often.

Last week, the three police officers from town came out to the station for some morning tea. The boys couldn’t stop talking about them (or making siren noises) once they’d left. Our village, vehicles, road and people were the perfect way to follow up that experience and keep the conversation going. One of my favourite things about these toys is the range of people in the set. It allows for plenty of conversations about roles in the community, diversity, culture and family structures.

Who am i? A little game we did this morning. These flashcards are from the freckled frog and its such a fun little game to match the skin to the animal. If you watched my stories you can have a glimpse of our game we did this morning. Set up a little play dough invitation for this afternoon whilst I prepared dinner. And let me say it was a hit. Happy Litte Architect range. Great for both kids working very much in the Enclosure Schema right now; but, it’s excellent problem solving for the clever kid—who, mostly loses her mind if she doesn’t understand it instantly. It is forcing her to stop and think and problem solve a little more.
